I believe that anyone can improve their voice. I have had many students come to me wondering if they are good enough singers to take lessons, or I have had students apologize for how they sound. When this happens, my response is always to remind the student that they are here to learn, not to be perfect or sound amazing right away! And it doesn't matter if your voice sounds a little rough at first, because that is exactly why I am there to help!
Through a scientific, working knowledge of the voice, I will explore with each student to discover their true voice. I am dedicated to helping my students learn body awareness to aid in posture and finding vocal tensions through the use of the Alexander Technique. In lessons, I will teach the fundamentals of healthy singing, grounded in the classical tradition, and eventually help students apply those fundamentals to the student's favorite vocal style.
